With just a month left to wait until the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 8, you could say we’re getting a little restless. Nevertheless, we can (just about) see the end in sight, which will stop us from constantly refreshing The Walking Dead twitter page in search of any information that will serve our addiction (we just really, really love it). Thankfully, a new poster release for the upcoming season has just dropped. And so have our jaws.

AMC have released this epic poster that features our favorite characters, but it doesn’t seem like they’re having the best of times (not that living in a world overrun with zombies can be the most thrilling experience, anyway). In fact, this new season promises an ‘All Out War.’ Dun, dun, duuuuuuun….

Walking Dead Season 8 Poster

Along with this cool new poster, AMC have also released one hella long synopsis for the new season. Here’s a few snippets:

This year, Rick brings ‘All Out War’ to Negan and his forces. The Saviors are larger, better-equipped, and ruthless – but Rick and the unified communities are fighting for the promise of a brighter future. The battle lines are drawn as they launch into a kinetic, action-packed offensive.

I mean, we were excited before. Now we think we may scream.

If you’re a fan of the comic book series, you probably saw this coming – but of course, there’s nothing like seeing an epic storyline coming to life through your TV screen. It seems this season Negan will be bigger and better, and taking his leadership skills to the next level. He’ll lead the residents of the Hilltop, The Kingdom and the Alexandria colonies to fight in an awesome battle with their arch villains, the Saviors. It will be bloody, it will be bold, and it will be brutal. There may even be a few fights with the Hipsters and the Jadis as well, but we don’t want to spoil it too much…

However, if you think this new information will prepare you for what’s coming, you’re deeply mistaken. Danai Gurira, who of course plays Michonne on the show, has warned us of the ‘deeply different’ season we can expect to watch.

We don’t tend to tread the same ground twice. It is a deeply different season premiere – deeply, deeply different and unpredictable and very, very rich in the story that’s being told and powerfully acted and all of that. That’s what’s amazing about the writers of the show, is that they don’t tread the same ground.

Negan will be taking lead in Season 8

Ahhhhh! Catch the Season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead on October 22, 2017.
