Parks and Recreation (2009 – 2015)

TV Shows Like Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Parks and Recreation

If you like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, you’ll love Parks and Recreation – no doubt about it. This hilarious sitcom is set in the fictional town of Pawnee in Indiana. With their perky and preppy residents, this show follows the life of those who work in the Parks Department at the county council. With some pretty rough and ready cases to deal with (they don’t really), these guys are stretched to say the least (they’re not). Nevertheless, Amy Poehler and Chris Pratt are the stars of the show, so if you don’t watch it because of us, watch it because of them.

Reno 911 (2003 – 2009)

One of the reasons we love Brooklyn Nine-Nine is because we can’t get enough of the our favorite cops, but we’re definitely open to new suggestions – which is why we chose to watch Reno 911. Needless to say that the show did not disappoint. For the most part, this show was largely improvised, which makes it even more hilarious. Alongside this epic humor, there’s also a whole load of cop lingo, cop drama, and cop satire.

Psych (2006 – 2014)

If you’re looking for a show similar to Brooklyn Nine-Nine, look no further than Psych. This epic detective show features cops that are incredibly similar to Jake and his pals – and it’s also downright hilarious. Pysch follows the live of Shawn Spencer from Santa Barbara, who just happens to have an eidetic memory that helps him become the best detective in the area (yeah, that’ll do it). There’s drama, there’s comedy…what else do you need?

New Girl (2011 – Present)

Who’s that girl? Oh, it’s Jess! If you love the incredible bond the detectives at the 99th precinct have, there’s no denying the fact that New Girl will be your new favorite TV show (y’know, apart from Brooklyn Nine-Nine). This show follows the life of a larger than life primary school teacher called Jess, who moves in with a crazy bunch of dudes. What happens next is beyond explanation…

Veronica Mars (2004 – 2007)

TV Shows Like Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Veronica Mars

If you’re just as obsessed with Brooklyn Nine-Nine as we are, you might have been thinking, “Darn, where the heck is the noir mystery drama at?” Well, if that’s the case, Veronica Mars has got you covered. With Kristen Bell as your lead star/college student/incredible private investigator, you can expect a lot of drama, intensity, and a heck load of running. If you like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, you’ll love Veronica Mars.

There’s nothing we love more than settling down with a pot of yogurt (Terry would approve) and watching Jake, Amy, Captain Holt and the rest of the gang go about their annual Halloween Heist – but sometimes you have to mix things up a bit. If you’re looking to do just that, why not try out these TV shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine? You won’t regret it.
