Be warned: if you haven’t finished the first season of Stranger Things yet (why is it taking you so long?!) – you might not want to read this.
With just over four months to go until Stranger Things 2 FINALLY comes back on our screens for us to binge watch in two days again and cry for the rest of the year, we’re getting pretty impatient for new Stranger Things news.
But today, we’ve found something out. And we’re not happy about it.
At the end of last season, we saw the wonderful Barb become just one of the victims of the Demogorgon in The Upside Down. And the internet wasn’t happy with its choice of victim.
Still very upset they left barb to die in stranger things…. #NeverForget

I wonder when I’ll get over Barb’s death from Stranger Things

The silver lining for some, is that Barb’s death is no longer the worst thing to happen to them this year. #PresidentTrump #StrangerThings

After her death, we were all hoping it was all just some hilarious joke, and that she’d rise from the ashes to live long and prosper. But Stranger Things showrunners have now quashed these dreams.
Showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer have been speaking to Variety about the iconic character:
There’s no resurrecting Barb.
Ouch. Our hearts.
Despite her intense popularity (and even a Justice For Barb campaign), it seems the show have actually cut Shannon Purser’s straight-laced character from the show altogether. Matt said:
It was really surprising how much she took off. I related to her, so I think other people did as well.
We just need to digest this information for a few months.
