We all know Stephen King – you know, the guy who loves to scare us all so much we can’t sleep for a week, but brings us equally brilliant storytelling and movies. Yeah, that guy. Well, he’s back. And this time, there’s something lurking in the mist…
The iconic King story will be adapted into a TV series by Spike TV, who hope to give it more justice than Frank Darabont’s (The Walking Dead) first adaptation a few years ago.
The story of The Mist follows the life of:
A small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world, and in some cases, each other.
And here’s the trailer:
The new series will star the likes of Isaiah Washington Jr., Morgan Spector, Luke Cosgrove, Alyssa Sutherland, Russell Posner, Gus Briney, Darren Pettie, Danica Curcic, Francis Conroy and Okezie Morro – and will even bring us in some extra characters than those in the book.
Spike TV seem pretty confident will their new venture, promising us an epic tale synonymous with the popular Stephen King novel. In a statement, Sharon Levy from Spike TV said:
From the brilliant mind of Stephen King and the incredible production team at TWC-Dimension TV, The Mist will take audiences on a thrilling ride through a small town grappling with a mysterious and shocking horror.
The new series is set to premiere on American TV on June 22, although there’s no word yet on when Brits can feast their eyes on The Mist.
I mean, we’ll watch it. But we’re not sure we want to.
