We all love our Star Trek news. And this time, we’ve got the pictures to prove it.
Yesterday, Entertainment Weekly released a never-before-seen image from the new Star Trek: Discovery television series that gave us a sneak peek into one of the show’s new transporter. Yep, we said one of. Because there will be more that one. And we’re pretty stoked.
The newest addition to the Star Trek franchise will be set 10 years prior to The Original Series and will follow the journeys of not one, but TWO Starships (they just love to spoil us, don’t they?!). The USS Discovery and The USS Shenzhou.
The newly released image takes a look inside the transporter bay in The USS Shenzhou, and stars Captain Philippa Georgiou (Michell Yeoh) and First Officer Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) as they prepare to beam themselves down to…well, somewhere. We can only assume they’re going somewhere pretty darned dangerous, considering they’re packing some pretty hefty armor…
What do you think? Do you like the new transporter room? (Disclaimer: we think it’s pretty epic)
Star Trek: Discovery will debut on CBS All Access on Sunday 24 September this year. If you’re in the UK, the new series will be available on Netflix, but so far there’s no confirmed release date.
