If you’re retro fans like us, you probably remember watching the epic Spidey-cartoons when you were younger. Well, good news, he’s coming back.
Marvel revealed the news at last year’s Comic-Con event in New York, and they’ve now confirmed that a brand new Spider-Man animated series will be hitting our screens later this year.
Marvel’s senior vice president of animation and family entertainment (bet he can’t fit that on a name tag), Cort Lane has said that in 2017
“A brand new Spider-Man animated series, one we’ve been working on for a few years now will make it’s debut.”
The new series will simply be titled Spider-Man (original) and is said to:
Follow the adventures of Peter Parker from the very beginning. It’s filled with humor and heart, and we have an amazing creative team coming.
It seems that the new animation will hold dear everything the comic fans know and love about Spidey – considering Spider-Man comic book writer, Dan Slott will be joining the team as a creative consultant. Sources have confirmed that the new series will draw from all aspects of Dan Slott’s nine-year run with the Spidey comic – and will even include Max Modell who has been absent from many live-action movies. Modell serves as a mentor to Peter Parker as well as heading the infamous Horizon Labs. He will be voiced by Fred Tatasciore in the new animated series.
Now here’s the best part. The trailer. Just see for yourself:
Spider-Man versus the Scorpion? Amazing.
And according to the new trailer, the new series will be arriving this summer. We can’t wait.
