You know how a while back we said Game of Thrones Season 7 was gonna end with one seriously long episode? Well, turns out that pretty much the entirety of Game of Thrones Season 8 is going to be feature length episodes according to an inside source.
Sound designer for the show, Patricia Fairfield, let slip a little secret about Season 8 at Con of Thrones over the weekend, saying that all episodes may well be feature length. We’ll admit, when we heard the final series was only going to be six episodes long, we were a little disappointed. However, if this is true, then we’ll still be getting hours and hours of GoT action. Result! This could also mean that the sixth episode of Game of Thrones Season 8, which we’re bracing ourselves to be the very end, could be the longest ever. With the finale of Season 7 set to be 82 minutes (yep, nearly an hour and a half of awesomeness), we’re expecting the very final episode to be like a movie in itself!
So on the plus side to the seriously sad news that we’re on the penultimate series of Game of Thrones (well, will be on July 16), at least we know there are some epic episodes coming. Although there are only 7 episodes in Season 7, it could actually have a runtime slightly longer than previous seasons. Here’s hoping anyway.
We don’t like wishing our life away, but we CAN’T WAIT for the new series to start. And now we’re already excited about Game of Thrones Season 8. Even if it is going to be bittersweet.
