We all love the Game of Thrones franchise except for one thing: the fact that George R. R Martin and the producers of the show just LOVE to kill off our favorite characters. In all seriousness, we don’t really think we’d be able to cope without Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons in our lives. Luckily, Emilia Clarke has dropped a major hint in a recent interview that has made us pretty darn happy.
The actress spoke to Rolling Stone about the upcoming season seven of Game of Thrones.
I have no doubt there’ll be prequels and sequels and who knows what else. But I am doing one more season. And then that’ll be it.
Which is great news for fans of the Mother of Dragons as we all know there are only two seasons left of the franchise *sob* – meaning Daenerys will be there up until the very end!
During the interview, Clarke also confirmed what we all guessed from the epic season seven trailer, that Daenerys will FINALLY make her way to Westeros in one final battle to win over the Iron Throne.
Spoiler alert – I don’t normally spend very much time in Belfast, but this last season I spent a little more time there.
Belfast and Northern Ireland is where the Game of Thrones posse film the majority of their Westeros scenes – but Emilia Clarke has spent most of the previous six seasons sunning it up in Essos which is filmed in Morocco. So we hope she remembers to pack a coat.
Clarke continued to speak of the upcoming season (which we literally can’t wait for) assuring fans that season seven,
Is a really interesting season in terms of some loose ends that have been tied, some really satisfying plot points, some things where you’re like, ‘Oh, my God. I forgot about that! Rumors are going to be confirmed or denied.
Ugh, this has just made us even more impatient. Season seven drops on July 16, and we’re counting the days…
