Who else remembers Animaniacs? The epic cartoon series that we spent probably more time than we should have watching, will be returning to our screens pretty sharpish – and we can’t wait. Yes, that does mean you can shout ‘hello nurse!’ about 50 times today.
Indiewire have revealed that Warner Bros and Amblin Television are joining forces again to revive everyone’s favorite after school cartoon series, in a complete reboot. And they’ll also be teaming up with original executive producer, Steven Spielberg to produce the best the Animaniacs have to offer.
The cartoon series original debuted on our screens back in 1993 (yep, that long ago!) in its prime time afternoon spot, and soon got snapped up by Warner Bros before it sadly ended in 1998. #NeverForget
However, Animaniacs had a new lease of life last year when TV streaming giant, Netflix, added it to its hefty catalog of US TV shows, and we were all reminded of how gosh darn brilliant it really was. The show focused on the lives of Yakko, Wakko and their sister Dot – the Warners who basically just cause trouble and mischief for everyone around them. There were also other in-world characters, such as Ralph the Security Guard, Pinky & The Brain, Dr. Scratchansniff and Hello Nurse. And the world loved it. The cartoon won multiple awards throughout its run, including eight Daytime Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award.
At the moment, all we know is that a reboot is HAPPENING after 20-years without Yakko, Wakko and Dot and there’s a high chance the legend himself will be helping them out. We love you, Stevey.
