Then Came You: Everything You Need To Know

Asa Butterfield and Maisie Williams? Yes please!

If you’re the kind of person that loves movies, you’ve come to the right place. We kinda love movies too because we’re only human, and we’re pretty sure that there’s a human gene that makes our eyes happy when a film is playing in front of them. Yeah, that must be it. Science, y’all. While it may not be the season for Oscar-winning movies just yet, the start of the year is full of new and smaller productions that aim to take the world by storm. That’s exactly what Then Came You aims to do, and here’s everything you need to know about this new comedy-drama. Don’t say we don’t treat you.

    What’s it about?

Then Came You follows the life of Calvin, an airport baggage handler who has a few little quirks about him. Most notably, he’s a little socially awkward (join the club, Cal), and is a severe hypochondriac. While spending countless hours at the doctors and in hospitals with fears of having fatal diseases and catastrophic illnesses, Calvin meets a British teenager who really is in a spot of bother with her health. In fact, Skye only has a short amount of time to live, and she wants to make the most of it. She enlists the help of Calvin to tick off the eccentric and awesome things on her bucket list, and they get started! However, things get a little complicated when Calvin realizes he just really doesn’t want to say goodbye to his new friend…

    Who is in it?

Yep, the cast of Then Came You is a 20-something-year-olds dream. Stepping into the shoes of Calvin is Asa Butterfield, who you’ll probably know from binge-watching “Sex Education” on Netflix. Starring alongside Asa is Maisie Williams, who will play Skye. Of course, we don’t really need to introduce Maisie. As one of the most famous young ladies in the acting world today, she is best known for her role as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones. You totally knew that, right? As if that wasn’t enough, Then Came You also stars Nina Dobrev, Ken Jeong, Peyton List, and more.

    Why all the hype?

This movie is a relatively independent creation. It hasn’t been adapted from a book, and it hasn’t really been marketed to the level of other Hollywood movies. However, that’s what makes it exciting. It’s the kind of movie that will come out of the woodworks with a heartfelt and humorous storyline and an equally awesome cast. You can’t really complain with Asa and Maisie in the driving seat, can you?

    When is it out?

Then Came You will be released in theaters across the United States on February 1, 2019. Hopefully, it will start off the February movie list with a bang. We’ve got our fingers crossed.
