Foo Fighters’ frontman, Dave Grohl wasn’t the only Grohl on the Secret Solstice Festival stage this weekend – because his eight-year-old daughter, Harper, joined him on stage to take over the drum set.
Dave Grohl explained to the crowd about his daughter’s appearance, and Foo Fighters’ usual drummer, Taylor Hawkins had no trouble giving up his sticks so Harper could have a go during their set in Iceland. Grohl told the crowd,
About two weeks ago my daughter said, ‘Daddy, I want to play the drums. And I said, ‘Ok, you want me to teach you?’ And she said yes. ‘Do you want to get up in front of 20,000 people in Iceland and play?’ And she said yes. So ladies and gentlemen, welcome the next generation; there’s another Grohl on the drum set now. And this is the first song she learned.
Harper then wowed the crowd with her recognizable beats for a rendition of Queen’s We Will Rock You, and they even joined in to support her.
Take a look at this:
We reckon we’ll be seeing a lot more of this rock princess pretty soon!
But this wasn’t the only bit of excitement to come from their gig. Foo Fighters also used the festival as the perfect platform to perform three new songs from their brand new album – which is due to be released sometime in the next six months. And considering it’s their first album since 2014, it’s fair to say we’re completely ready for new Foo Fighters music…
