Well, we don’t know about you, but we think this is just about the best news ever. Before Will Smith became famous for his role in Fresh Prince of Bel Air, starring in just about every Hollywood Blockbuster and spawning some of the most talented children in the world (no, we’re not jealous of his talents at all. Ahem) – he was known for being part of the hip-hop duo, The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff. The pair brought us some of the best party classics, including “Boom! Shake The Room,” “Parents Just Don’t Understand” and “Summertime.” And let’s be honest, we all still know all of the lyrics…
Although the pair never officially split up after Will turned his attention to his acting career, the duo never recorded any more songs – but they did perform together in 2013 on the British TV talk show, The Graham Norton Show. Ever since this appearance, the pair has hinted at a reunion, but it has never materialized… UNTIL NOW.
The pair will be performing at the popular MTV Summer Blast Music Festival in Croatia on August 26, 2017. But this isn’t all.
Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff have now confirmed that they will be performing together once more in the UK, as they are due to headline Livewire Festival in Blackpool on Sunday 27th August. As if this wasn’t enough to make you want to go, the duo will be joined at the festival by Jason Donovan, Pepsi & Shirlie, Samantha Fox and the remaining members of The Jackson Five.
Could this be any more retro? We’re totally there.
