Shania Twain has proven that she’s Still the One we’ll run to – because we are so ready for this UK tour!
We still remember our years of singing along to Shania Twain as it plays on our cassette player (remember that ancient artifact?) with a hairbrush microphone in our hands, and wearing a leopard print all-in-one – and that was only last week (just kidding. Or are we…?) The Canadian songstress dominated the early late ‘90s and ‘00s with her catchy lyrics, her don’t-give-fudge attitude and her sassy outfit choices, and brought us some of the best songs of the century – including ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much,’ ‘Man, I Feel Like A Woman,’ and ’You’re Still The One.’ Basically, she was da bomb.
However, Shania Twain has been pretty quiet on the pop front over the last few years, although she has released a few mildly successful tracks here and there. Thankfully, the retro gods have been shining down on us folk in the UK, and the legend herself has announced a UK tour for the first time in 13 years!
It’s been reported that Shania Twain will touch down in the UK in September 2018, and play a string of six dates for her fans (which is basically everyone, right?) Here are the dates for you to scribble down in your calendar and aggressively circle and underline:
September 21, 2018 – Glasgow The SSE Hydro
September 22, 2018 – Manchester Arena
September 24, 2018 – Birmingham Arena
September 26, 2018 – Dublin 3Arena
September 29, 2018 – Belfast The SSE Arena
October 2, 2018 – London The O2
The news comes after Shania recently confirmed the release of her brand new album, NOW, which will be released on September 29. The new album will feature some of her brand new tracks, including ‘Life’s About to Get Good’ and ‘Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed.’
Tickets for the tour are not available to buy just yet, but they will be available from 10am on Friday, September 29. But if you’re a super duper Shania Twain fan and pre-order her album from her official website, you will be eligible to access pre-sale tickets before everyone else! You can do this here.
Shania has released a statement about the UK tour, and revealed that ‘it’s time to get back out there and give the music a chance to live a life.’
We just squealed a little.
