Let’s be honest, ‘80s music is our kryptonite. Whether you grew up in that era or just love the music, there’s nothing quite like it. So, if you’re a lover of everything retro (like us) you’ve probably heard of Deacon Blue. I mean, who hasn’t? Now, the Scottish pop-rock band have announced a 30th anniversary tour – and we’re pretty darn excited.

Deacon Blue rose to fame in 1985 and released their first debut album in 1987, and slowly but surely made their way into every house across Europe (if not, you were definitely missing out). With 12 UK Top 40 singles and two number one albums, you could say they were kind of a bit deal. Deacon Blue sadly disbanded in 1994, but reunited five years later to create even more sweet sweet music.

Over the last few years, Deacon Blue have been quietly working behind-the-scenes to create epic new music for their fans. They’ve released numerous albums and used their creativity to spark new material and lyrics. But now it’s time for them to come out from under the covers, and celebrate their wondrous career with an awesome 30th anniversary tour.

Ricky Ross has spoken of the new announcement:

This will be the first time we have toured without a new album in over five years and the announcement happens to coincide with 30 years of Deacon Blue so we’re going to make the tour a celebration of 30 years of the band. It’s an opportunity for us to play songs from Raintown all the way through to Believers.

The tour will take across the UK and Ireland and will feature 23 dates across the nation. The tour will start off in Belfast on November 13, 2017 and finish off in Glasgow on December 15, 2017 – which is the perfect christmas gift for any Deacon Blue fans out there.
