David Bowie is one of the biggest names in music – and will forever be remembered for his eclectic persona, pioneering musical talent and genre, and the fact that he was one of the coolest men in the world. Now, Parlophone Records are releasing an 11-CD box set to celebrate the life and career of the Star Man.
This isn’t the first time a David Bowie box set has hit the shelves, and this new box set comes as the third installment of Parlophone Records Bowie trilogy. In the past two years, they have released ‘Five Years’ which covered his music from 1969 – 1973 and ‘Who Can I Be Now?’ covering his music from 1974 – 1976. Their new box set, ‘A New Career in a New Town’ will feature his music from 1977 – 1982 and offers some of Bowie’s most iconic and most famous songs. The box set will include Bowie’s own trio of ‘Berlin Albums’ as well as an incredible reissue of his 1978 live album, ‘Stage’ and his ‘Baal’ EP which features his music from the Brecht play. As if that wasn’t enough, the CD will also contain a brand new, never-before-heard remix of his LODGER album. So basically, it’s pretty epic.
The new CD box set will also be available on Vinyl, and will also feature a 120-page book which contains unseen photos of Bowie from award-winning photographers, as well as technical notes about the albums and press reviews and releases over the years.
The ultimate box set will be released on September 29, 2017, but you can pre-order it here from Amazon now.
