Boyzone Tour Will Feature Westlife Star Brian McFadden

No matter what… We’ve got to go

If you grew up in the ’90s and early ’00s, chances are you had a favorite boyband. I mean, there were plenty to choose from. Backstreet Boys, *NSync, 5ive, B2K, O-Town… Need we go on? However, there were two boybands who dominated the UK charts throughout the 90s – Boyzone and Westlife. Many fans already know that there is a Boyzone tour happening (and are already super excited), but what if we told you it’s about to get that little bit better?

For those of you across the pond or who aren’t familiar with the legends that were… Boyzone were put together by X-Factor old-hat, Louis Walsh, back in 1993. They are the second most successful boy band in the UK according to the Official Charts Company, selling over 13 million records just in Britain alone. Westlife, set up in 1998 (again by Louis Walsh), were renowned for their seriously ’90s hair and catchy song covers. In terms of best-selling singles artists in the UK, Westlife are just behind Boyzone at 34th (Boyzone being 29th). So, if you grew up in that era, chances are they were probably a big deal at some point in your life.

Recently, Boyzone announced they would be going on a 25th Anniversary Tour and fans of the band went wild. Now, anyone who had both bands’ posters on their walls are in for the treat of a lifetime. According to sources, Brian McFadden from Westlife fame is due to be joining Boyzone on their anniversary tour. Shane Lynch of Boyzone said:

There’s a possibility of Brian joining us. He’s doing the whole tour on support but there’s no point in him hanging around. I’d like to bring him on stage for a couple of songs with the boys.

Brian McFadden had been hoping for a Westlife reunion tour in 2018, to celebrate their 20th Anniversary, but doesn’t look like he could wait that long to get back on stage.

Tickets for the Boyzone tour are already on sale, with the first show kicking off in Hastings, UK August 25, 2017.
