Do we even need to know any more? We’ve already dusted off our dungarees and stuck our hair up with way too much hair product. We’re light a Goddess on the mountain top, burning like a silver flame…
No, you’re not dreaming that you’ve traveled back in time to the land of the ‘80s, Bananarama really is coming back! The ‘80s pop trio made up from Sara Dallin, Keren Woodward and Siobhan Fahey will be rolling up their high waisted jeans and donning their combat boots for a reunion tour… 29 years after they last performed all together. And by the looks of their new images together, they’re still sassy as heck.
Don’t worry, you’re not really that old, because Bananarama has been on the scene for quite a while. But this will be the first time all of the original band mates will be performing together for nearly three decades. Five years after they released their first single, Siobhan left the group – to form Bananarama’s bitter rival band, Shakespeare’s Sister (also amazing). Nevertheless, it seems the women have patched things up, and are ready to take the stage again.
Siobhan has since said:
It’s pretty nerve-wracking for me; it was 29 years ago that I left, so I’m rusty, to say the least. I didn’t say ‘yes’ immediately, I was in complete shock, but my heart felt a sense of absolute joy, and I just felt it was the right time in my life. Emotionally I felt like something I needed to revisit, to go back to my roots and that time with my best friends.
And we have one thing to say – YES!!!!!!! We’re so happy that the band who brought us pop hits like ‘Venus,’ ‘Cruel Summer,’ ‘Love in the First Degree’ and ‘It Ain’t What You Do’ are coming back, that we have to take the rest of the week off to make sure we get tickets for their reunion tour that will be released this week. Sorry, Boss.
