Ever since we found out about the potential for a new Mean Girls musical, we’ve been getting ourselves mentally and physically prepared. We’ve been looking at pictures of Aaron Samuels to solidify our love, we’ve been eating our Kalteen Bars to get our hot bod, and we’ve been hanging out with our army of skanks…I mean, friends, to catch up on all the goss. Oh, wait.
On her recent trip the NBC studios to have a chat with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Mean Girls creator Tina Fey confirmed that progress was ‘moving along nicely.’ Although she did say,
I’ll probably come back here like five more times before we actually come to Broadway, but it’s a real thing now.
You heard the lady, it’s happening. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. IT IS REALLY HAPPENING. Who wants to go see it?!
On the show, Fey confirmed that the musical will be starting off small, at the National Theater in Washington D.C. The tickets are available to buy now, and the first show takes place on Halloween (hopefully with a Lindsay Lohan lookalike dressed up as the ‘ex-wife’). She also spoke about her excitement over the new musical and the new cast.
These kids are so talented. We have the cast now. We’ve been rehearsing for about a month. There’s a bunch of baby Timberlakes. Everyone can do everything! They just sing so loud and they dance so hard.
In true Mean Girls style, fans have taken to the Burn Book (Twitter) to announce their own excitement.
Tina Fey is on Jimmy Fallon talking about the Mean Girls musical. It’s going into previews in D.C. this October. I. CAN’T BREATHE!!! #LetsGo

We reckon it’s going to be so fetch. (And we’ve already bought ten tickets).
