Okay, so there is one thing we know for certain – Mexican film director Guillermo Del Toro is a genius. He’s brought us the likes of Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy, The Devil’s Backbone and more, and now he’s bringing us a brand new movie, The Shape of Water. And it looks hella creepy. But also pretty epic.
His new movie will be released on December 8th this year, and the newly released trailer has got us pretty excited for the debut. Although we may not be able to have a bath for a while now. Check it out:
The Shape of Water will star Sally Jenkins as a mute janitor in a top secret science laboratory in 1963. As the Cold War rages around them, the scientists are up to something – and she soon figures out what it is. The movie has also bagged itself some pretty high-profile actors, including Octavia Spencer, Richard Jenkins, Michael Shannon and Michael Stuhlbarg.
Alongside the haunting yet heartwarming trailer, The Shape of Water has also released it’s synopsis.
From master storyteller, Guillermo del Toro, comes THE SHAPE OF WATER – and otherworldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963. In the hidden high-security government laboratory here she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.
Oooooh, how good does that sound?!
