So, after months of waiting, the release of character photographs, a leaked trailer description, movie posters, and a few teasers, we FINALLY now have the first official trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi (woo-hoo!) The trailer dropped this morning, and has since gone viral on pretty much every social media site known to man, woman and Jedi. And it’s not surprising, as Rhian Johnson’s trailer is emotional, intense… and of course, action-packed.
Over the past few months, Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been shrouded in questions and rumors, with many questioning the main plotline, and the basis behind the eighth installment in the ridiculously successful Star Wars franchise. It seems Star Wars fans now have a few answers – but even more questions! It’s clear that The Last Jedi will have a strong focus on Rey and her Jedi training, and the trailer hints at a darkness taking hold of her… will she remain true to herself or let the darkness overpower her? Who bloomin’ knows.
The trailer has also given us a little glimpse into some of the new characters and creatures we can expect to see in the full movie – which is great for us, because it means we have a load more things to obsess over (which we’re totally going to do). However, one of the most emotional aspects of the new trailer is seeing the late Carrie Fisher take her last bow as Princess Leia. Although we still mourn over her death, it seems Rhian Johnson will give her the send-off she deserves in The Last Jedi.
So now we come to the main event… the trailer. But should you watch it? Well, a couple of days ago, Rhian Johnson was torn.
I a legitimately torn. If you want to come in clean, absolutely avoid it.
But it’s gooooood….. https://t.co/Y29K5yz8i4
