We’re kind of used to Ryan Reynolds fighting and shooting guns by now (i.e. we’ve watched Deadpool A LOT) but this looks pretty epic – so we might need to watch this one every day too.
A brand spanking new trailer for the action-comedy movie The Hitman’s Bodyguard has just been released, and you just have to see it:
The new movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, Gary Oldman and Elodie Yung and looks like it will be full of Reynolds-style banter (the best kind), and a heck load of hard-charged action.
The official plot synopsis states that:
The Hitman’s Bodyguard is an action comedy about the world’s top protection agent (Reynolds) and his new client: a notorious hitman who came in from the cold (Jackson).
But of course, it’s not as simple as that.
They hate each other. Now they’re stuck together and have 24 hours to get from England to The Hague. The only thing standing in their way is everything a murderous Eastern European dictator (Oldman) can throw at them.
Dannnnnnng, that sounds good.
And it’s not just the trailer that’s giving us a good lol-athon here at RetroEnt – just take a look at the poster for the new movie. They’ve hilariously spoofed the 1992 movie poster for The Bodyguard starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. What can we say, it just works.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard is currently being directed by Patrick Hughes. Although not big in the game, Hughes has previously directed the likes of The Expendables 3, Red Hill and his own independent movies. But we reckon this new film will put him ahead of the game in Hollywood.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard will be released in cinemas on August 18th.
