If you’re a fan of RetroEnt (of course you are, duh) you’ll know that we are the BIGGEST Potterheads going. Yep, we’re obsessed. We love magic, we love J.K Rowling, we love it all! Naturally, we’ve been pretty darn excited about about the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel ever since we watched the first movie, and ever since we heard that J.K Rowling had finished the Fantastic Beasts 2 script. Well, it’s fair to say we’re now floating on air (someone must have cast the Wingardium Leviosa spell) because not only has an official cast photo been released for the upcoming movie, but we’ve also been blessed with an official title. Is it our birthday? Because this is the best day ever.
So, we’ll get to the title first. Warner Bros. has now confirmed that the Fantastic Beasts sequel will be called Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Sure, we already knew that the second movie fill have a bigger emphasis on the infamous Wizard, Gellert Grindelwald, and his evil reign on the Wizarding World, but we didn’t know quite how big this emphasis will be. Now the whole movie has been named after him, we can assume he will play a pret-ty big part…
Alongside this official title, the filmmakers have also released the first official cast photo that features all of the characters dressed in their 1920s gear, and rockin’ the Zoolander smoulder (yep, we’re looking at you, Johnny). One particular character that stood out for us was, of course, Jude Law. Jude will grace our screens as none other than the greatest headmaster Hogwarts ever had, Albus Dumbledore. As one of the most beloved characters in the Harry Potter universe, we’ve been keeping an eagle eye on his development as a character in Fantastic Beasts. Although he did not appear in the first movie, it was clear he would have to step in at some point – because shizz doesn’t happen in the Wizarding World without Professor Albus Percival Wulfric *Brian* Dumbledore apparating in to save the day. Of course, we’re impressed with Warner Bros. for casting such a wonderful actor as Jude Law, but we’re also impressed to see that the young Dumbledore will add a bit of eye candy into the mix.
