It just wouldn’t be the same without Rexy

We all loved Rexy – but we wonder how long it took them to come up with that entirely original and creative name for a T-Rex?

One of the main reasons we shall be going to watch the new Jurassic World 2 movie will be because the real star and the main character of the Jurassic Park franchise will be returning.

No, it’s not Chris Pratt. It’s not Sam Neill. It’s Rexy.

Rexy is one of the most famous dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park franchise and first appeared in Spielberg’s 1993 film. At first, she was a nightmare. Let’s just say Dinosaurs and humans don’t mix so well. But she eventually ended up saving the group from a load of Velociraptors, so the fact she tried to kill them was all forgiven. When she reprised her role in the 2015 Jurassic World movie, fans couldn’t contain themselves. But after Claire released her to destroy the chances of creating the Indominus Rex, it seemed like it would be the last time we would see her.

But it has been confirmed that she will, in fact, be featured in the new Jurassic World 2 movie that is set to be released on June 22, 2018. The producer of the movie has said that her appearance in the movie is…

Confirmed. Tell her when she wakes up. The T-Rex that’s in the film is the T-Rex from the original Jurassic Park, and she is 22 years older. But, she’s not limping around… we took the original design and obviously, technology has changed. So, it’s going to move a little bit differently, but it’ll move differently because it’s older. And we’re giving her some scars, and we’re tightening her skin. So, she has that feeling, of, like, an older Burt Lancaster. And this movie is her Unforgiven.

So basically, just like us Jurassic Park fans… Rexy has got older, wrinklier, and a bit stiff around the limbs. At least it won’t make us feel bad.

Rexy will be joined on the set of Jurassic World 2 by previous Jurassic World actors, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas, and new stars, Rafe Spall, Toby Jones and B.D Wong. But not much else is known about production at this stage. Even the location for filming has yet to be specified – which begs the question… will it be filmed on the iconic Costa Rican island? Or somewhere different?

Jurassic World 2 will be produced by a multitude of producers and executive producers, including the legendary Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Colin Trevorrow, who is currently working on the Star Wars VIII – The Last Jedi movie.

So we can expect big things. Especially with Rexy involved.
