New Black Panther Photos Have Been Released And They Look Epic!

Marvel have got it spot on

It’s no surprise that here at RetroEnt we love Marvel and anything to do with superheroes (partly because we’re super jealous we don’t have any superpowers – yet) so we’ve been pretty excited about the new Black Panther movie. Although we were briefly introduced to the King in The Avengers: Civil War, it’s about time T’Challa got his own stage (or screen).

And just to make us even more excited, Entertainment Weekly have now released the twenty never-before-seen official photos from the movie that allows us to journey to Wakanda and take in the dangers Black Panther is facing. Disclaimer: they’re epic!.

Through the comics and previous cameos, T’Challa/King of Wakanda/Black Panther has often been misconstrued, with many mistaking his mission for vengeance as evil. Of course, we know the truth – and so does Black Panther himself, Chadwick Boseman. In the Entertainment Weekly interview, Boseman confirms that this movie will shed a different light on the Vibranium-enhanced superhero, where we will learn the emotions and the difficulties he faces as he tries to save his homeland. And judging by the photos, we reckon he has the skills, the armor, and the muscles to defeat anything that gets in his way.

As well as being the first Marvel movie to feature a largely all-black cast, these new photos also show us the importance of women in Black Panther (heck yeah!). In one of the official photos, we get a glimpse of the all-female Special Forces and Secret Service in Wakanda, starring the likes of Florence Kasumba, Danai Gurira, and Lupita Nyong’o. And they look just as strong as the men.

These photos also give us an insight into the different locations and environments the Black Panther experiences throughout the movie – we’ve got waterfalls, we’ve got mountains, we’ve got a luxury casino, we’ve got US government facilities and more.

Black Panther will be released in cinemas on February 16, 2018.
