Murder on the Orient Express: Everything You Need to Know

Who dunnit?

Here at RetroEnt, we’re pretty darn obsessed with all things retro, and all things entertaining (if you couldn’t tell). But what you may not know is that we’re also total books nerds – and you know what, we’re proud of that fact! Of course, as true book nerds we will read (literally) anything put in front of us, but we do have our favorites – and they’re normally pretty retro. One author we just can’t get enough of is Agatha Christie. Because of this, we were pretty stoked to find out that Kenneth Branagh (legend) was making a brand new movie adaptation of one of Agatha Christie’s famous mysteries – Murder on the Orient Express. As we’re feeling generous, here’s everything you need to know about this upcoming movie…

    What’s it about?

The main premise of this movie is pretty simple – there’s a murder, and it happens on the Orient Express. Simple, right? Well, not quite. Set in the 1930s, The Murder on the Orient Express follows the life of one of the most esteemed detectives in the world, Hercule Poirot. As he takes a break from the world of detection and travels on the Orient Express, Poirot finds himself surrounded by strange and unique people from all walks of life. But after one passenger is found stabbed to death, it’s Poirot’s job to determine the killer from his new list of suspects. Oooooooh.

Here's Everything You Need To Know About Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express

Who is in Murder on the Orient Express?

The main question is… who ISN’T in it? Murder on the Orient Express contains an all-star cast unlike any other. You can expect to see Kenneth Branagh, Penelope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, and Daisy Ridley. You really don’t get much better than that.

    Why all the hype?

Many people have been wondering why Murder on the Orient Express is receiving so much hype. Sure, it’s one of the most prominent murder mysteries in the world, but those who have read the book will already know the ending. However, critics are still urging those who have read the book to see the movie – because it is that darn good. Apart from the all-star cast (which should sell it for you anyway) this movie is all about suspense. Each character in this movie will have an in-depth story that will be explored in different ways, and will have you screaming at the cinema screen. You just can’t miss out.

When is Murder on the Orient Express out?

Murder on the Orient Express will be released on November 10, 2017 – so we don’t have too long to wait to find out the biggest question in the world: who dunnit? But if you can’t wait until then, check out the trailer…
