Movies Like Titanic That You’ll Never Want to Let Go

Our hearts will go on with these movies!

There are some movies that will forever go down in history – and the Titanic is one of them (oops, excuse the pun). This epic movie is the perfect mix of real-life tragedy, heartwarming romance, a whole load of class, and where do we even begin with the cast, crew, and production?! For starters, you really can’t get any better than James Cameron. It’s practically science. Then, you add Leonardo Dicaprio (swoon) and Kate Winslet (double swoon) into the mix, and you have one of the best acting duos of all time – fact. Yet, because it’s Titanic and these guys wanted to blow our minds into the cinematic stratosphere, they then added the ICONIC theme tune that is Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On.’ However, as it’s socially unacceptable to watch Titanic every single day, you might need a few other options to tide (lol, geddit?) you over until next week. So, check out these movies like Titanic that you’ll never want to let go of…

    Best Movies Like Titanic

Okay, let’s get all cinema-buff for a second – because the main themes in Titanic are forbidden love, tragedy, disaster, and (unfortunately) death. So hold onto your hats, ladies and gents, because these movies like Titanic are going to be a whirlwind of emotions.

    Romeo + Juliet (1996)

Let’s be honest, Baz Luhrmann is an absolutely genius (you can deny it all you want, you know it’s true), and Romeo + Juliet is one of his best movies… like… EVER. Copied almost entirely from the original Shakespeare script, this movie adaptation is the epitome of tragedy – because we all know how Romeo + Juliet ends (and it’s not pretty). However, this modern twist brings Shakespeare into a new era and is really one to feast your eyes on. Oh, and Leonardo Di Caprio. That is all.

    Atonement (2007)

    Movies Like Titanic - Atonement

If you love Titanic, you’ll love Atonement – because this drama is one that will get you laughing, crying, and feeling all kinds of emotions you didn’t know existed. This movie has been adapted from Ian McEwan’s epic novel of the same name and follows the lives of Robbie Turner and Cecilia Tallis, a couple of young whippersnappers who fall in love. However, we all know the course of love doth never run smooth, and their love is torn apart by a jealous sister’s torrid lie. Will they get through it? You’ll have to watch to find out…

    Armageddon (1998)

    Movies Like Titanic - Armageddon

If you’ve watched Titanic (we’d be surprised if you hadn’t, considering you’re reading this awesome article *winks*), you’ll know that it’s a total emotional rollercoaster – one that we really weren’t prepared for. Well, a similar movie to Titanic is Armageddon, and yes, this movie is also an emotional rollercoaster that will have you clutching for the nearest box of tissues and pot of Ben & Jerrys. Great. As the world faces an impending asteroid, NASA enlists the help of deep-core drillers to save the world. But the big question is… will Bruce Willis get there in time?

    Water for Elephants (2011)

Movies Like Titanic - Water for Elephants

When it comes to movie couples, Jack and Rose kinda take the biscuit. However, there are a few contenders creeping up on their heels – including Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon. As the stars of Water for Elephants, these two truly make out heart melt. Set in the backdrop of 1930s traveling circus, this veterinary student finds his world turned upside down when he falls in love with the ringmaster’s wife. It’s a no-brainer. If you love Titanic, you’ll love Water for Elephants.

The biggest question when it comes to the Titanic is whether there was enough space for Jack on the door. Of course, we all know there was (boom, science) but you might want to check out this mind-blowing theory that explains why Rose just let Jack die – it’s pretty out there. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for movies like Titanic to float your boat, check out these awesome options!
