Movies Like Jurassic Park Because Life, Uh, Finds A Way

These are dino-mite! (We’re not even sorry for that incredible pun)

When it comes down to it, we would never turn down the chance to stay on a private island. We could surround ourselves with nature, we could go on epic buggy rides through the jungle, and we could laze around and top up our tan. I mean, what more could you really want from life? You’re basically sorted. Unfortunately, Jurassic Park definitely won’t get a 5* review on TripAdvisor, because it’s definitely not as it was advertised on the website. Sure, we expected dinosaurs, but not giant dinosaurs that are ready to eat you at any moment. So if you’re not watching Jurassic Park purely for its trashy rating, you might want to check out these other movies like Jurassic Park because life, uh, always finds a way…

Movies Like Jurassic Park

We’re totally joking, of course. As one of the greatest movies ever created, this 1990 Spielberg classic will always go down in history for its dinos and its actors. From epic storylines of destruction, drama and even a little romance, Jurassic Park truly is one in a million. However, there are a few movies similar to Jurassic Park that could fit the bill.

Jurassic World (2015)

Movies Like Jurassic Park: Jurassic World
Come on, you didn’t think we would talk about Jurassic Park and NOT talk about Jurassic World, did you?! We would be doing Jeff Goldblum a complete disservice if we didn’t. Although this 2015 movie is part of the franchise, it’s fair to say that it stands alone in the movie world. For starters, there’s a completely different cast, the timeline is different, and it’s much more modern. The jury is still out on whether it’s better than the original, so we’ll leave that decision to you.

Walking With Dinosaurs: The Movie (2013)

Movies Like Jurassic Park: Walking With Dinosaurs
If you’re looking for a movie similar to Jurassic Park, then look no further! Walking With Dinosaurs: The Movie is classified as a children’s movie, but it’s safe to say that anyone who loves dinosaurs (which is basically everyone, right) can enjoy this film. With adorable animation and stories that will make your heart melt and your brain fill with information, this movie is incredible. It’s even better if you can watch it in 3D…

Jaws (1979)

Movies Like Jurassic Park: Jaws
One of the main reasons why we love Jurassic Park so much is because we love Steven Spielberg so much. The man is a gosh darn genius. So, if you love Jurassic Park, you’ll love Jaws – because it’s Stevey at his best! Sure, it’s a little outdated, and you can totally see the mechanics of the metal sharks, but it really is a classic. Even if you have already seen this movie, we would recommend that you watch it again this weekend, because you’re gonna need a bigger boat.

King Kong (2005)

Movies Like Jurassic Park: King Kong
In Hollywood movies size really does matter, so if you’re a budding filmmaker and looking to make it big in the industry, that’s exactly what you need to do. You need to make it big! Just as the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park are huge, so is the slightly understood gorilla they call King Kong. If you weren’t tempted enough with this movie like Jurassic Park, then what if we told you that this film also features dinosaurs and weird critters on Skull Island? We bet you’re sold.

Lake Placid (1999)

Movies Like Jurassic Park: Lake Placid
If one of the main reasons you love Jurassic Park is because it scares the heebie-jeebies out of you, then you’ll probably love this movie similar to Jurassic Park. Yep, Lake Placid is all about going big or going home – because how else are you going to contemplate your every move if a giant crocodile decides that normal crocodile food isn’t enough for him? We need to know what to do if these giant crocs ever get a taste for human flesh. It’s a tough world out there.

Were gonna be totally honest with you, we don’t think we could ever get enough of the drama in Jurassic Park. Yet, if you do find a spare moment when you realize that you’ve had enough Jeff Goldblum in your life (although we highly doubt that is possible), then we’d suggest you check out these movies like Jurassic Park. You know, if you fancy it.
