Earlier today, the Love Actually 2 poster was released by NBC – and we have to admit, we screamed a little. Okay, a lot. We’ve known about the Love Actually 2 short for a while now, but now it’s getting pretty real – and it’s getting more real by the minute.
After the posters, NBC followed the news up with a brand spanking new trailer for Red Nose Day Actually and gives us an insight into what we can expect from the short. Luckily, we can contain our excitement for a little while, as we only have to wait two weeks to see the full movie on NBC’s Red Nose Day on Thursday, May 25.
The trailer is the first official footage from the US short, and comes after the UK Red Nose Day Special in March – but this time, it’s different. The UK trailer simply showed the characters holding up cue cards in true Love Actually form. But this new trailer featured most of the cast members and a little bit about their lives after the movie 14 years ago.
The trailer opens with Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) meeting his super-cool stepfather, Daniel (Liam Neeson) and telling him he’s had a lot on his mind. But of course, when it comes to Sam, it’s not about work – it’s about love. So what’s happened since he said goodbye to his American love at the airport gates? We can’t wait to find out.
We also see the the hilarious cashier, Rowan Atkinson, behind the counter of Walgreens, gloriously scooping jellybeans into his customer’s wrapping. I mean, jelly beans in your grocery bag? Genius.
But he isn’t the only Love Actually legend we get a glimpse of. The best-selling musical legend, Billy Mack (Bill Nighy) also appears in the trailer, once again finding himself on the radio. And we’re eager to find out more about this conversation after revealing the best (ahem) physical relationship (ahem) he’s ever had was with one of the Kardashian sisters. But which one?
Well, we’ll definitely be tuning in.
