We love the sound of this…

Nowadays, Hollywood seem to be embracing all things retro – and we totally dig that (well, we ARE RetroEnt). Yep, the world of cinema seems to have made a major 360-turn to provide us with reboots, remakes and sequels for all kinds of movies, from Disney to Blade Runner. However, more often than not, they’re rebooting movies we really couldn’t care less about (of course, we’re talking about Aladdin, how can you top Robin Williams?!) Because of this, we’ve been asking ourselves a question over and over again for the past few months… where’s Bill & Ted.

Well, it may be that our cinematic prayers have been answered, as Keanu Reeves has dropped a massive Bill & Ted bombshell at New York Comic Con. Since Keanu Reeves’ epic performance in the 1989 Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and the 1991 Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, fans have been hoping the pair would reunite for another venture of some sorts (that would hopefully involve some air guitar). In an amazing twist of fate, it seems they WILL be reuniting, and their new movie even has a name. Cor, we’re being spoilt.

Keanu Reeves confirms there is a script for Bill & Ted sequel

The third movie in the Bill & Ted franchise will be called Bill & Ted Face the Music and will act as a sequel to their second movie in 1991. Apparently, the movie has been in the development stages for many years, but has never really taken off – until now. Reeves spoke about the movie at the New York Comic Con, saying. ‘We’re trying. There’s a script out there. We’re just trying to get it made. Show business is tough.’

The actor even gave us a little insight into the plotline of the new movie:

It’s a cautionary tale. They’re supposed to save the world. But when we see them, they haven’t saved the world, and they’re married and have kids. And they’re playing to nobody…But they have to write the song…and face the music! Hopefully we’ll make it before I’m 60.
