Let’s be honest, we’ve been obsessed with Jason Momoa ever since his luscious locks and THOSE muscles appeared on Game of Thrones – and let’s not even talk about the whole ‘Moon and Stars’ business (because we can’t even deal). So of course, we were incredibly excited to discover that this Hawaiian hunk had been cast as Aquaman in the upcoming Justice League movie. Yep, Jason Momoa will soon be joining the likes of Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Ray Fisher (Cyborg) and Amber Heard (Mera) to bring us the ultimate DC adventure. And we can’t wait.
However, this isn’t the only DC venture to get super pumped about. A few months ago, it was confirmed that the King of Atlantis himself would be getting his own movie. Not only does this mean we get AT LEAST an hour and a half of just staring at Jason Momoa’s…err….face, but this also means we get the chance to further explore the Aquaman character, his past, and his world under the ocean. Although this movie was confirmed with a 2018 release date, DC were being pretty tight-lipped with their details – and we didn’t really know much about it. Until now.
In a new interview, Jason Momoa has revealed some epic details about the new Aquaman spin-off, and it sounds pretty darn awesome.
You’re going to see this ocean world, which we just pollute, and how do these poeple feel underwater with what the land does to the ocean. And this is a war that is going to come between the two, and I’m the only one that can link the two. He has to do it. He doesn’t want to do it. Surpassing Justice League, this moment in time is his call to become king. The only thing that can save Atlantis is me fighting my own brother. There’s a big battle, and there’s an epic [fight].
Alongside this new information, we have also learned that Jason Momoa will be joined by Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman, Patrick Stewart, and Amber Heard in the new Aquaman spinoff that will be directed by directing legend, James Wan. We can’t wait for this!
