Okay, okay, okay, you’ve got us. We love dinosaurs, and we luuuuuurve Jurassic Park. In fact, we love anything Stephen Spielberg puts in front of us – but we especially love Jurassic Park. This science fiction franchise has been our bread and butter (do dinosaurs eat bread and butter?) since its initial release in 1993, and has continued to expand into a multi-billion-dollar empire ever since. Sure, the first trilogy was pretty frickin’ epic, but we have to admit we love the fact that ol’ Stevey decided to ride with the times in 2015 and release Jurassic World. It was bloomin’ awesome.
Although we’ve known about a Jurassic World sequel for a couple of months now, Universal has been pretty tight-lipped about the whole thing. We knew that Chris Pratt would be making his triumphant return to the island (alongside his epic dinosaur training skills), but we didn’t know much else. Thankfully, after what seems like YEARS of waiting, we FINALLY have a trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – and holy lava is it awesome! Check it out:
I mean… wow. This awesome trailer gives us a little sneak peek into what we can expect – and it’s a whole load of drama, fire, and Jeff Goldblum (love you, Dr. Malcolm). As he gives the world a dire warning about the co-existence of humans and dinosaurs, we see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard getting utterly mangled by an erupting volcano and angry dinos. But will Blue remember him and help save the day? Well, we kinda hope so otherwise it will be a pretty anticlimactic movie.
Alongside the release of the first official trailer, Universal have also released a plot sequence for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom:
It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by human while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano brings roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.
Yep, we’re sold. Jurassic World Kingdom will be released in theaters on June 22, 2018 – and we can’t wait!
