“You wouldn’t know a good time if it fell out of the sky and landed on your face and started to wiggle!”

2017 has been the year of the remake – and we’re loving it.

This year we’ve had remake after remake announced, and here at RetroEnt, we can’t get enough of them. Especially as the cinematic gods (also called the production companies) are remaking some of our most favorite movies. And it seems they’re not ready to stop just yet, with a new Great Outdoors remake now in the works.

If you grew up in the ‘80s, you’d probably remember the hit comedy movie that hit our screens in 1988. The Great Outdoors starred the likes of Dan Aykroyd and the late John Candy, and was directed by the legend himself, Howard Deutch.

Although news on the new remake is pretty scarce right now – we do know a few little details. And the one we’re most excited about is the fact that the comedy genius, Kevin Hart, will be starring as a lead in the remake.

Well, we already know it’s going to be amazing. There’s no news as of yet as to who will star alongside him, but we do know that the script will be written by Randall Green. At the moment, Green is working on the new Scooby Doo remake (exciting), but it’s said that he’ll get started on The Great Outdoors script as soon as he’s done.

Of course, we’ll update you with any more information as soon as we get it. But for the moment, just let this awesome news sink in…
