Clint Eastwood isn’t known for doing things by halves. And this unprecedented move has made us love him even more.
In his newest project, ‘The 15:17 to Paris’ – Clint Eastwood aims to tell the story of an attempted terrorist attack in Paris in 2015. And instead of casting real-life actors, Eastwood has cast the actual heroes involved. No, YOU’RE crying.
This story follows the events of a Brussels – Paris train on August 21, 2015, when Anthony Sadler, the Oregon National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos, and US Air Force Airman Spencer Stone thwarted a terrorist plot. As they traveled through Paris, the three men noticed another passenger carrying an AK-47, planning to use it on the over 500 passengers on the train. Instead of shying away, the men overpowered the suspect and saved the lives of hundreds of people. The men were hailed heroes and were given their country’s highest decoration honor.
Now, Eastwood hopes to tell their story in the only way he can – through cinema. But after finding his actors, he decided to change his mind and go a different route.
Eastwood began a wide-ranging search for the actors who would portray the three Americans. The studio and Eastwood made their choices but at the 11th hour decided to have Sadler, Skarlatos, and Stone portray themselves.
The new movie will feature the real-life heroes involved in the event and will follow their early lives and the actions that lead to the possible attack. They will star alongside the likes of Jenna Fischer, Ray Corasani, and Judy Greer. We can’t wait to see what Eastwood and the men create.
