Yup, it’s official. We’re feeling festive here at RetroEnt! Christmas is just around the corner – and we can totally tell, because we can’t leave the house without wearing sixteen layers of clothing, two scarves, a bobble hat, three pairs of gloves and boots with the furrrrrrrr (T-Pain and Flo-Rida would be proud). However, when we’re not battling the harsh winter and going beyond the wall to fight White Walkers (lol, GoT joke) we’re snuggling up on the couch with a hot cocoa in our hands, with a crackling fire roasting in front us if. Gosh, we’re so cliche.

The Best Christmas Movies on Netflix

Nevertheless, there really is nothing better than getting cozy during the festive period. It’s the time to chill out, relax and max all cool, eat all the food, drink a heck load of eggnog, and binge watch some of the greatest Christmas movies of all time. Luckily, Netflix have you covered. So, have yourself a merry little Christmas with these festive movies on Netflix this year…

    Bad Santa (2003)

If you’re a toughened millennial who doesn’t care about the commercial ideals of Christmas (oh, shhh), you’re probably not ‘into’ your classic Christmas movies. Well, we’ve got the perfect movie for you guys. Bad Santa stars the amazing Billy Bob Thornton and Tony Cox as they go about their annual Christmas con. As the pair continue to rip off unsuspecting victims, Thornton soon befriends a young boy who shows him what Christmas is all about.

    A Christmas Prince (2017)

Okay, okay, okay. You’ve got us. We love a good cheesy rom-com about princes and princesses – but at least we can admit it, right?! A Christmas Prince is a new Netflix Original movie that follows the life of a beautiful young journalist (ahem, we’re right here) who tries to get the latest royal scoop on a dashing young prince. However, her undercover mission is thwarted when she falls head over heels for the Prince. Awww, yuck. This movie is notoriously bad, but that’s exactly what makes it EPIC.

    Mickey’s Twice Upon A Christmas (2004)

Christmas Movies on Netflix This Year: Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas
If you’ve been dumped with babysitting duties over the festive period… well, good luck. Kids are even more excitable at Christmas. Don’t worry though, because if you play enough games of Kerplunk and stick them in front of the TV, they’ll be snoozing in no time. One of the best family-friendly Christmas movies on Netflix this year is Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas. It’s Disney. It’s Mickey. It’s Christmas. Need we say more?

    Get Santa (2014)

Christmas Movies on Netflix This Year: Get Santa
There are a few things Christmas movies just have to have in them: presents, carols, reindeer, Santa, and excited kids. Luckily, that means Get Santa hits a homerun. At the center of this movie is a young boy who discovers that Santa Claus has crashed into his backyard. To get Santa back to Lapland in time for Christmas, he must herd up all Prancer, Dancer, Blitzen and the rest of the gang and get a move on. Y’all better hurry up.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

Christmas Movies on Netflix This Year: The Grinch
Come on, is it really Christmas if you don’t watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas? This absolute classic should be a movie staple in every household, and it’s finally been released on Netflix – so we can watch it over and over (and over and over) again. This Dr. Seuss story follows the life of the grumpiest grump in Whoville, The Grinch, and his quest to ruin Christmas. Luckily, Cindy Lou and her wacky hair are on hand to save the festivities and warm his heart. Anyways, you’ll need to watch this in preparation for the remake next year

    The Santa Clause (1994)

Christmas Movies on Netflix This Year: Santa Clause
Tim Allen as Santa Claus? We’re sold. This ‘90s classic follows the life of the divorced advertising executive, Scott Calvin. After he accidentally injures the real Santa Claus, Calvin has to step into his (very big) shoes and take a trip to the North Pole to get ready for the Christmas deliveries. Will he be able to make it in time? Well, watch it and find out, silly.

Yep, Netflix have pulled out all of the stops this year for their festive treats, but the big question is… which Christmas movie on Netflix will you watch first?
