Let’s be honest, we all love Star Wars. Yep, whether you’re old, young, or pretending otherwise, there’s nothing you can’t love about spaceships, Jedi’s, robots, Stormtroopers, and some pretty awesome hairstyles (we’re talking about you, Leia). We’ve known for some time now that Star Wars would be getting a Han Solo spin-off movie called Solo: A Star Wars Story, and we’ve been pretty darn excited about it – if you couldn’t already tell by our incessant ramblings. However, for the last few months, Ron Howard has kept pretty schtum about the movie and what it will be about. Of course, it was obvious the movie would follow the life of Han Solo…but that’s about all we knew. That is, until now. (Dun, dun, duuuuuuun).

Disney/LucasFilm have FINALLY released a synopsis for the spin-off movie they are now calling, Solo: A Star Wars Story (I mean, how cool is that?!) We now know that this movie will take place before Han stumbled upon Luke Skywalker and Ben Kenobi in the Tattoine cantina, and we’re so ready for it. Here is the official synopsis:

The Synopsis For Solo: A Star Wars Story Has Been Released

Board the Millenium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

That’s right, folks, Solo: A Star Wars Story will follow the relationship between Han Solo and Chewbacca. This is the kind of change we need in the world. Bravo.

The role of the young Han Solo himself will be taken on by Alden Ehrenreich, and he will be joined on the Millenium Falcon by Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson and Phoebe Waller-Bridge – y’know, just in case you haven’t already circled May 25 in your diary and pre-booked your tickets.

Now we know the ins and outs of the new movie, we can’t wait to check out the first official trailer, which is expected in the next few weeks. Keep your eyes peeled!
