Let’s be honest, there are two people in the world who are pretty much winning at life, and they are Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley. One is the handsome and quirky star of the new Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man (who we have a real crush on), and the other is the strong and powerful lead in LucasFilm’s Star Wars franchise (who we also have a real crush on). So we always thought the two pairing together would basically end in ultimate mind blown-y-ness and the end/beginning of the world. But thankfully, it’s happened, and the world hasn’t blown to smithereens.
The two actors are to pair up for an upcoming sci-fi thriller called Chaos Walking, due to be released on March 1, 2019. The new movie will serve as the first installment of Patrick Ness’s book series, Chaos Walking: The Knife of Never Letting Go and will hopefully (with all going well) branch out into a movie franchise.
The story will follow the life of Todd Hewitt (played by Tom Holland) in a dystopian world where all human beings and living things can hear what the other is thinking. After he uncovers a secret in his town, Todd flees the town with his dog in tow, and stumbles upon a young woman called Viola Eade (Daisy Ridley). As the two set off together, Todd realizes that he needs to forget everything he has ever been told or learned to uncover who he really is.
The new movie will be brought to life by Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow director, Doug Liman who will work alongside Rogue One producer, Allison Shearmur and How To Train Your Dragon Producer, Doug Davison. Patrick Ness will be on hand to write his script, with the help of Charlie Kaufman and John Lee Hancock. And with all of those names, you can already tell this movie is going to be a pretty big deal.
We can’t wait to see these two together!
