Last Friday, Marvel unveiled their brand new teaser trailer for Black Panther during the first quarter of the NBA Finals – and it’s since taken over the world (not literally, of course, Black Panther is the good guy).
The new movie will see Chadwick Boseman step into the super-tight superhero suit of T’Challa, also known as the Black Panther (and an African King) who aims to save and defend his native Wakanda from internal and external threats. The Black Panther was first introduced to us in Captain America: Civil War, but unlike most other Marvel movies, the new Black Panther movie will not star previous superheroes or villains, and will very much be a stand-alone movie. With no Marvel A-Listers and a predominantly black cast, this new movie will give us an insight into a new generation of superheroes. And we’re so ready for it.
It seems the world is too. After its release on Friday, the teaser trailer managed to whack up an incredible 89 million views in the first 24 hours and has since been shared on most social media channels, making it one of the most-watched Marvel trailers in history. Although it wasn’t enough to take over the 136 million views of the Thor: Ragnarok trailer.
