Yep, the excitement is strong in this one. Not only are Disney and LucasFilm spoiling us with a brand new movie this year, but they’ve also revealed that they will be bringing us an awesome Star Wars Hotel AND two new immersive Star Wars Lands at both the Orlando and California parks. I mean, it’s a great year for Star Wars news, right? Well, apparently they’re not done yet, as Disney has now confirmed they will also be bringing us a new virtual reality Star Wars experience to open this year.

It’s been confirmed that Disney and LucasFilm will be teaming up with one of the biggest players in the VR industry – The Void – to bring us a brand new attraction that will be located in Downtown Disney at the Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista (Florida) and at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim (California). Together, they will bring the new virtual reality attraction, which will allow Star Wars fans to wander through a fully immersive VR world to interact with characters. It’s been revealed that it will be called Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire – and we can’t wait to unveil the secrets.
The co-founder and chief creative officer at The Void has also confirmed the deal.

The CEO of The Void, Cliff Plumer, has also been speaking to The Business Insider about the news, stating that:
[The LucasFilm story team] spent time with us understanding our process and looking at how we go about creating our experiences, and they had a storyline in mind. It’s been a great collaboration since day one.
So far, Disney haven’t released any more information about their new virtual reality experience, but we’re already sold.
