These Retro School Supplies Will Make You Want To Be A Kid Again

Who remembers the colorful, sparkly gel pens?!

Going shopping before school started again to get your school supplies was one of the most exciting things to do. You couldn’t just go ahead and let you mom get you any old stationery, could you? You needed the best of the best. Which was great… until you lost half of it after the first week back. But oh well… for that first week, you were the king or queen of school supplies. Take a look at these retro school supplies that will make you want to be a kid again…

    Pencil Grips

Because could you physically use a pencil without it having a pencil grip on it? Well, you could, but it wouldn’t look as good. These pencil grips didn’t actually add much to the pencil usage – in fact, they made them harder to use, but they definitely made them more aesthetically pleasing. The brighter the color, the better.

    10-Color Pens

What’s better than a colored pen? A pen that has 10 colors! The 10-color pen was the ultimate pen when it came to efficiency. If you had this pen, you could write your notes in all of the different colors, or use them to make your ‘Mrs. Justin Timberlake’ lettering pop even more…

    Lisa Frank… everything

The Lisa Frank empire took over the ‘80s and ‘90s, and every girl had to have at least one.. .or ten, Lisa Frank items. With the hot pinks, lime greens, purples and yellows that adorned these school supplies, they were a necessity to stand out and be the best.

    Pencil Toppers

Pencil + Pencil Grip + Pencil Toppers = the ultimate pencil. Back in the day, sticking nude trolls, giraffes without mouths and lions on top of our pencils was a must for some reason. They just added that little somethin’ somethin’ extra.

    Trapper Keepers

Trapper Keepers weren’t just school supplies… they were status symbols. Each day, the battle of the Trapper Keepers commenced, and whoever had the coolest or the most colorful Trapper Keeper won. Our favorite: the dolphin Trapper Keeper. Elegant, but mysterious.
