The city of Los Angeles will be paying their respects to Batman legend, Adam West this evening (15 June) in the best way possible. So if you live in LA, look out your window tonight to see the bat-signal light up the sky in honor of the Caped Crusader…
Last Friday (9 June) we really could have done with some help from Batman, after hearing the devastating news that Adam West had passed away. West was most known for his role in the 1960s Batman television series, where his movements were marked with the iconic ‘Wham!’ and ‘Pow!’ graphics, as well as his tongue-in-cheek humor.
Fans, friends and family from around the world took to social media to pay their respects to the acting legend, and his family released a statement:
Our dad always saw himself as the Bright Knight and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives. He was and always will be our hero.
To honor his memory, his career and his life, LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck will lead the a public ceremony for Adam West, and everyone around the world who was touched by West’s acting. They will light up the sky with the bat-signal.
But this time, Batman won’t be coming to save us. RIP Adam West.
