If you’re a giant Potterhead (like us) then there’s only one destination on your Bucket List right now… Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter. And now there’s even more reason for us to visit, with a whole new ride soon to be added to the park.
Hogsmeade is soon to get even rowdier than your typical college town, but the screams won’t be from drunken wizarding students. Instead, thrill seekers will soon be able to experience a truly magical Harry Potter experience in a ride that the park says will “redefine the category” of roller coasters. The statement, posted onto the park’s blog also says,
The new attraction will be one of the most highly-themed coaster experiences we’ve created. It will combine a new level of storytelling with an action-packed adventure… and a few surprises along the way.
But what does this actually mean?! Unfortunately, nobody has any ideas. The parks in Orlando and Hollywood have already introduced some rather spectacular technology into the mix, including 3D and immersive experiences unlike any other. So trying to hazard a guess is about as likely as guessing which Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean you’re about to eat whilst wearing a blindfold (don’t do it, it’s always vomit).
Along with the good news, there is also some bad news we’re afraid. If you’re planning on riding the Dragon Challenge then you better hurry up and book your tickets fast. According to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, the ride will be closed for good on September 5, 2017. This is because it will be cleared out to make space for the brand-new ‘it which must not be named’ ride. We’ll let them use that code name for now, if they like.
