A few months ago, we reported on the rumors over a possible Nintendo SNES Classic re-production. Well, it turns out we obviously have the most epic psychic skills, because it has been officially announced! And we know what we want for Christmas this year, please and thank you.
Nintendo announced the news yesterday (26th June) and officially confirmed that we’ll be getting the mini SNES Classic console back in our lives. The new console will allow us to relive the golden age of gaming and will let you bask in the nostalgia of 16-bit gaming. And the best part is that it looks exactly like the original ’90s home console, but can fit nicely in your hand. Oh, and it already comes fully loaded with 21 of the best Nintendo games!
But this awesome new-and-improved-retro console just has to be shared (I mean after you’ve spent the first 24 hours solidly playing the retro games) and Nintendo has sorted that out for you. Inside the box are two retro SNES Classic Controllers that look so old they could pass as gaming fossils – and we love it. This means you can 2-player this shizz to your heart’s content and make the most out of these multiplayer games.
Thankfully, we don’t have too long to wait for the console to finally be released. The SNES Classic will be available to buy on September 27, 2017, and will cost you just $79.99! (We’re obviously getting four for the office, then. You know, for research purposes). Here’s the full list of the 21 retro games loaded on the console:
Super Mario Kart
Super Metroid
Super Mario World
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
F-Zero
Street Fighter II
Super Punch Out
Castlevania IV
Donkey Kong
Mega Man X
Kirby Super Star
Final Fantasy III
Kirby’s Dream Course
Star Fox
Yoshi’s Island
Super Mario: Legend of the Seven Stars
Contra III

…And for the first time ever, the never-before-released Star Fox 2!
