Sega is Releasing a Sonic Mania Soundtrack on Vinyl

We’re ON IT (Like Sonic)

There are two things we love in life – Vinyl records (because they’re just super retro, duh) and Sonic the Hedgehog (because how can you not?). And now, our retro gaming dreams are coming true, because Sega are releasing a Sonic Mania Soundtrack. I mean, Life = Made.

The news comes as Sega celebrate the 26th birthday of the iconic blue hedgehog (yep, you’re really that old) and they anticipate the release of two new Sonic the Hedgehog games later in the year. But to fill the gap, Sega have announced that they are going multi-player as they team up with Data Discs to produce a vinyl album of the Sonic Mania soundtrack, which will feature tracks from the Sonic composer, Tee Lopes. But don’t worry if you haven’t got a record player, you can also digitally download the album as well!

It’s not just the music that’s pretty epic – the physical album is, too. The new vinyl will be a decked out in a translucent Sonic-blue color (because black vinyl records are soooooo 2016) and packaged in a bright yellow cover that features Sonic and his friends having a good ol’ party in the background.

Sonic Mania Soundtrack will be released by Sega around August

There’s no official release date on this new album, but experts suggest we can expect it around August time. However, you can pre-order here from mid-July https://data-discs.com/products/sonic-mania
