Far Cry has taken us all around their world with their scenery and storylines, and now it seems the video game is taking its fans to Hope County, Montana.
Yesterday, Far Cry 5 released a teaser trailer for the next installment in the Far Cry franchise – and it looks pretty awesome, although many experts are predicting that the game will be subject to controversy and criticism.
The new game will be set in the fictional little town of Hope County in the US, but rather than the Monolithic period of the last game, Far Cry 5 has fast forwarded into the future – and of course, there’s the evil villain (it wouldn’t be Far Cry without one, now, would it?). From the teaser trailer, we can gather that the new storyline will be based on a religious militia group, complete with a Christ-like figure and last supper style set-up.
There is a distinctly religious aspect to the new game – with Nazi crosses, bound bodies with ‘sinner’ carved into their backs, churches and bibles. And we reckon it’s sure to shock some viewers.
At the moment, there’s no news on the exact storyline, but in the background, we can see planes flying ahead, which gives us the impression that Far Cry 5 will give us playable vehicles. Although we’re not too sure on the concept, we’re excited to see what they bring – because this trailer is something else.
Although we only have this trailer so far, we’ll be learning more about Far Cry 5 at next month’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) next month between June 13-15 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (which we’re super excited about)…
