There’s nothing we love more than a bit of celebrity beef – but the kind of trivial beef that makes us all laugh a little and then we can just get on with the rest of our day. Y’know, like the Katy/Taylor beef about their backing dancers and the Bieber/Manson beef about the T-Shirts. However, what we don’t love is the beef that has been broiling between Dwayne Johnson (AKA our favorite person in the world) and Tyrese Gibson.
The celebrity feud seems to have stemmed from the news that the Fast and Furious 9 release date has been pushed back to 2020, to make way for a brand new Fast and Furious spin-off starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. Of course, Tyrese Gibson (who is one of the key players in the Fast and Furious franchise) isn’t too happy that his beloved movie has been pushed to the side, and has no doubt who should take the blame for the move.
Wowza. This is awkward – and even more awkward because Tyrese didn’t even spell Dwayne Johnson’s name correctly.
Of course, we do get Tyrese’s frustration, as it can’t be easy to be pushed to the side as a latecomer takes over your franchise – but there are ways to air your grievances, and digging out one of the most-loved celebrities in Hollywood to your nine million Instagram followers isn’t probably the most gracious of ways. You know, that’s just our opinion.
However, the beef gets even juicier, as Dwayne cryptically responded to Tyrese’s pretty blatant post (he even tagged Johnson. Brilliant).
My goal from day 1 was to come in and create an exciting/fun character for the fans, elevate the franchise and build it out. #HobbsShaw2019 https://t.co/IJcdQTHSi3

Fans of Fast & Furious have been pretty divided on this news, and haven’t really known which side to take. However, fans of popular culture in general are pretty upset that The Rock has been so publically shamed…so more are leaning towards Johnson. Vin Diesel has even got involved, and has defended the action star.
