Representatives for Rolling Stones legend, Ronnie Wood, has confirmed that the guitarist was admitted to hospital last week to undergo keyhole surgery to remove a lesion in his lung – ahead of his 70th birthday, and his twin daughters’ first birthday.
The news comes as The Rolling Stones are set to embark on their new European tour, but Ronnie says that this will not affect his performance or his attendance, and that he is ‘feeling fine.’ Thank goodness!
Although the rock-star dad gave up smoking last year on the arrival of his twin daughters, Alice and Gracie, it is said that this recent lung anomaly was found during a routine appointment and scan. He has since stated that,
I’m so grateful for modern screening which picked this up so early, and would like to thank all the doctors who treated me.
His spokesperson has confirmed that Ronnie Wood will not be requiring any further treatment, and that he is fit as a fiddle for the tour which kicks off in September.
