As we all know, George Clooney is a bit of a babe (understatement of the century). Not only is he an incredibly talented actor, he’s also the silver fox we all expect our husbands to be, he’s an adorable dad, and he’s just a pretty decent guy. Yeah, we could totally be friends. However, it seems we’re not the only ones who are realizing this about George Clooney (shocker), as the American Film Institute (AFI) have now confirmed that he will be receiving their Life Achievement Award.
The AFI Life Achievement Award is one of the highest awards an actor can receive, with many successful actors and actresses only dreaming of this incredible achievement. As if that wasn’t cool enough, George Clooney will only be the 46th person to ever receive this award – so you could say it was kind of a big deal.
Sir Howard Stringer is the Chairman of the AFI Board of Trustees, and has spoken about their new decision.
George Clooney is America’s leading man. Director, producer, writer and actor – a modern-day screen icon who combines the glamour of a time gone by with a ferocious passion for ensuring art’s impact echoes beyond the screen. AFI is proud to present him with its 46th Life Achievement Award.
Well done, George!
Clooney will be presented with his Life Achievement Award on June 7, 2018 at a Gala Tribute to the actor. Oooh, fancy.
However, the award has not shocked us. It’s no secret that Clooney is one of the biggest names in Hollywood, and has appeared in some of the biggest blockbusters of the last few decades. His incredible work has awarded him eight Academy Award nomination, two Academy Award wins, an Oscar and numerous other awards that have celebrated his incredible talent. What’s another award on the mantlepiece, ey George?
