Once again, Netflix has pulled a right corker out of the bag, and have given us a glimpse into their brand new series – and it looks FLIPPING AMAZING!
Yes, it is about serial killers. And yes, we do have a weird obsession with psychopaths (probably says a lot about us), but we’re serious when we say this new show will be your next Netflix binge. Called MindHunter, this new crime thriller will follow the lives of two FBI agents in the 1970s as they delve into the minds of serial killers, attempting to solve ongoing murder cases and understand their motives to prevent any future murders. Sound like a bit of you? Well, check out the trailer:
I mean, we were hooked from, ‘It’s not easy butchering people. It’s hard work. Physically and mentally I don’t think people realize.’
This new show will star Holt McCallany (Heroes) and Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Frozen and Glee), with the story based on the John Douglas novel, Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, which inspired Silence of the Lamb’s character, Jack Crawford. So if you’re a fan of movies such as Silence of the Lambs and shows like True Detective and Making A Murderer (which is everyone, right?), then you’ll love this show.
However, you might not want to watch this show right before bed (and definitely DON’T eat any cheese) because the man behind three of the ten episodes will probably provide you with numerous nightmares. Directing legend David Fincher has been on hand to bring his disturbing and horrifying aesthetic to the set of MindHunter, and his resume proves that – he’s the man who brought us Gone Girl, Fight Club, Zodiac, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Se7en and The Social Network. Need any more reason to watch it? We’re sold.
Catch MindHunter on Netflix from October 13.
